My love for photography is a daily practice as I journal people, places, and landscapes. With a focus on capturing the essence of nature's grandeur, every click of the shutter is a moment frozen in time.

Shards of light
Whilst walking in my local park I was struck by beams of light radiating through the trees. I saw this as a spiritual sign of hope and new beginnings. Light is a rich symbol with many meanings both literal and representative: Light is the energy from the sun that makes it possible to see things, illumination is shedding light on a subject or specific place. Epiphany the greek translation to shine through and have a moment of realisation or revelation. Insight is the state of understanding something deeply with a sense of clarity.
I experienced the shards of light piercing through the trees. There was a moment of stillness as I felt an overwhelming presence of the divine. Through my images I seek to take you the viewer on a journey of truth and light.

My name is Rebecca Rowell I am a local Photographer\Artist based in Newcastle Upon Tyne UK. My art journey started from a young age as family members encouraged me to draw from still life. I went on to progress through education exploring all aspects of fine art and photography. This interest became such a passion that it led me to complete a fine art degree majoring in photography.
During the degree I collaborated with other creative people and tutors discovering that my greatest strength was photography. Starting with the use of S.L.R cameras and eventually D.S.L.R s(which I tend to use currently). My love for being outdoors and travel combined well with capturing images and sharing my experiences through the camera. Over the years I have had exhibitions, experiences and met people that have inspired my creativity, knowledge and portfolio both locally and abroad.
I use a variety of camera equipment ranging from using what I have with me (easier for daily use and travel) my phone camera, tablet , through to s.l.rs and d.s.l.rs which I tend to use on days out or bigger projects. For myself the most important thing is good use of whatever equipment I have with me and not interrupting a creative process but allowing a continuous flow. I tell visual stories of the beauty and or emotion I see around me.
